Our History

Company History

1988

Stewart Tubular Products is formed in 1988 by founder Steve Samuel, who sees the need for a nimble, responsive, high quality provider of threading services in the oilfield industry’s OCTG sector.

1996-1998

Stewart becomes a distributor of accessories for Hydril, a market leader for premium oilfield thread design. In 1998, Stewart becomes the first machine shop in the United States to obtain a Hydril threading license.

2006

Tenaris selects Stewart to become a threading licensee.

2010-2011

The company expands to include CNC mills in 2010, complementing its lineup of CNC threading lathes. In 2011, we earn a threading license from GB Connections. Additionally, the company expands its diameter capability window to 22 inches, enabling expanded service to the offshore threaded connections market.

2015

Stewart builds a new 127,000 square foot, air-conditioned facility from the ground up to drive efficiency, product flow, and integrate more turnkey machining into its service mix.

A license from MetalOne is earned the same year.

2018

2018 marks a new license, this time with TMK Ultra. TMK is later acquired by Tenaris.

Stewart installs a “9-axis” milling center, further enhancing its detailed CNC mill capability window.

2023

The company grows its CNC capability by adding additional turnkey machines in 2023 to better serve its expanding book of Tier One OFSE OEMs. As a result of strong execution on quality, speed of delivery, and safety, new business begins to build from the aerospace industry.

2026

In 2026, Stewart expands its technological capability and prowess by introducing its first CNC HBM and new CNC VTL.
